Selling automotive parts efficiently on Amazon
In this article, we provide information on how you can add vehicle compatibility information efficiently for your automotive parts listings on Amazon. When purchasing automotive parts, customers need to know what items are suitable to their vehicle; for this reason, below, we will outline the process for adding vehicle compatibility information to your listings. This information can help ensure higher conversion, higher sales and reduced compatibility-related returns.
Why is vehicle compatibility important?
Adding compatible vehicle data to your listings via Part Finder is a great way to ensure that customers are purchasing the part they are looking for. We highly recommend adding compatibility information to your listings for your search rankings to be optimal, which will turn into potential higher conversions and a better customer experience.
How to add compatibility information to your listings
a) Add information to a single listing
In the navigation bar in Seller Central or Vendor Central, click on Inventory and then on Manage Part Finder. Click on Add ASIN and follow the instructions step by step. Add the information using the pre-filled form.
b) Add information to several listings at the same time
i) Refer to the Master Vehicle List (MVL) to look up KTYPEs
To do this for multiple listings at the same time, you need to add compatibility information using the Master Vehicle List. The MVL is a data repository of vehicles that are currently operating in the region. It is now available to all selling partners selling automotive items on Amazon. The file provides information that will be transferred to our automotive parts compatibility tools.
The MVL also contains the unique KTYPE for each vehicle. Download a copy for all covered locales:

Terms of Use
The data contained in the Master Vehicle List may only be used in connection with the listing of products on Amazon for the following locales: Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden and Poland. The MVL also contains compatibility data for Austria-based customers, which will be used for listings on Amazon.de. The right to use the MVL is dependent on the provision of the MVL by Amazon. If Amazon stops providing the MVL, your right of use automatically expires.
The MVL may only be used in connection with new parts. Use of the data contained in the MVL (“Data”) for the used parts trade is not permitted. Used parts are the parts that have previously been fitted to a vehicle, with the exclusion of replacement parts or parts that are remanufactured or reconditioned. Any further use or dissemination of the Data is strictly prohibited. Unauthorised use of the Data will result in damage claims of the rights holders and may also result in fines or other penalties. In accessing and using the MVL to place an offer within the Amazon online stores for Germany, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden and Poland, the user must abide by the obligation to assess the compatibility of the spare parts with a given model of vehicle lodged by the user. The MVL also contains compatibility data for Austria-based customers, which will be used for listings on Amazon.de.
When downloading and using the MVL, the above Terms of Use apply and are accepted by users.
