In the bustling world of e-commerce, success stories emerge from businesses of different sizes, shapes and locations. Today, we're excited to share the inspiring journey of WeServ, a small French company that has rapidly grown its business, with the tools and features of Amazon Business contributing to its success.

The birth of WeServ

Founded in July 2023 by Nils Lemoine and Ramzi Taha, WeServ started with a simple yet powerful vision: to offer customers the best products at affordable prices. Based in Lisses, in the Paris region, the team specialises in cosmetics, hygiene, baby products and hospitality supplies.

Both founders started their careers at a key international wholesale market in France and then decided to create their own company looking for entrepreneurial freedom: "We wanted to test the experience on our side and do things our way", says Nils Lemoine, General Director of WeServ. "Our goal was to offer good-quality hygiene products at accessible prices by negotiating diligently with various suppliers".

The Amazon Business advantage

WeServ began selling on Amazon in September 2023. Having previous experience in B2B sales, the team quickly recognised the potential of Amazon Business. WeServ now wants to focus more on B2B as adapting the first B2B levers already brought positive returns. As a company, WeServ sees Amazon Business as a "very practical solution for professional buyers to have access to selection with pricing and quantities tailored to professional needs".

The company has embraced several key features of Amazon Business:
  1. Business prices and quantity discounts: WeServ uses these tools to offer competitive prices to B2B customers. "It's very useful because we've seen an increase in orders", Nils notes.
  2. Case packs: By listing multi-unit products, WeServ reduces its shipping costs.
  3. VAT Calculation Service: This feature that automates invoicing has been a game-changer for WeServ. "A time-saver for VAT, it's a first lever", says Nils.
"We tried a month without the tool and it was a nightmare to manually generate invoices. This service should be mandatory for all selling partners."

Ramzi Taha, the President of WeServ, also mentions that "B2B Product Opportunities recommendations is a powerful and useful tool". He shares that launching new products takes its time, but it's their favourite business activity: "We love researching new products and suppliers to expand the selection for our customers. The best feeling is when you bring a new product that will rock on Amazon!"

Amazon Business features helped WeServ to attract new customers — in commercial, health and educational segments. Ramzi notes the advantages of working with B2B customers:
"Easier delivery for our carriers, fewer delivery failures, fewer returns and therefore less after-sales service for us."

Rapid growth and challenges

Two key reasons motivated the company founders to launch on Amazon: 1) a convenient customer experience, which they could confirm, being loyal customers themselves; 2) ease of starting a new business: "Amazon is a great worldwide store. For a professional, it's much simpler than starting your own website, which requires more funds and communication efforts", explains Ramzi.

Within months of launching on Amazon, WeServ was experiencing remarkable growth. Starting with just 2 employees, the company was getting 150 orders a day within 6 months. However, this rapid success came with its own challenges. "The first month was crazy", Ramzi recalls. "We didn't expect such demand at the beginning. We quickly ran out of cash flow to pay suppliers and reorder stock".

Despite these initial hurdles, WeServ persevered. Today, almost 100% of their turnover comes from Amazon. The company designed their processes for Amazon and has even hired an additional employee to manage the increased order volume. In the beginning, the team started working with the largest and most experienced French suppliers but is now expanding across Europe, starting with the Netherlands and Belgium.

For sellers considering Amazon Business, Ramzi offers this advice:
"Be curious, try it out and find out about all the services that Amazon Business offers. It's a promising market."

Looking to the future

As WeServ continues to grow, they're excited about the potential of Amazon Business.
"We want to invest more time in Amazon Business because of the recent positive returns", Nils says. "Business Price + Quantity Discount is a win-win for customers and selling partners".

WeServ's story is a testament to the power of Amazon Business in helping small companies reach new heights. By leveraging features like business pricing and VAT Calculation Service, sellers can streamline their operations and tap into the growing B2B e-commerce market.
